Madelyn Dawson

“The voices and stories of the people around me inspire me everyday. Whether it is reading an article, looking at a photograph, or simply seeing people pass me by as I walk down the street, every person has a story to tell, and a unique voice to tell it.”

Madelyn was born in Red Bank, New Jersey, but has lived her entire life on Staten Island. She is passionate about writing and using her voice to inform, impact, and inspire others, specifically on issues surrounding mental health. She is motivated to speak out about climate change because it demands immediate and urgent action, and she believes she can and must make people listen. She wants her voice to be intersectional and universal: educating and informing about the inequalities that climate change exacerbates, while also telling of the immediate effects it will have on every living thing on the planet.
